Minecraft

A little about the game . . .

Beautiful map built in Minecraft

Minecraft was officially released on November 18, 2011. This game, that was orginally created in Creative mode only, really took off after it was officially released. Minecraft is a sandbox/survival game. Minecraft became an icon for sandbox games. Even though the game is cubed based, that's what made it so great. It just proves that a game does not need to have good graphics to be good. Minecraft has been through a lot of changes since it first came out and still to this day is getting updates. The amount of creativity and freedom that this game gives players is enormous. There are players that have built the whole Earth on a 1:1 scale. With a lot of survival games, there is usually and end game to it. While there is an end boss, there is no end game. Your world that you create will never have an end until you want to end it. I couldn't even tell you how many worlds I have in Minecraft. There is just so much to do in this video game and it only gets better playing with friends.

Yes, Minecraft also has multiplayer. There are servers that players can look up and join. On the more popular servers, there could be thousands of players. On those popular servers, there are more than a dozen of different kinds of gamemodes. Depending on the size of the server, some players can get "hired" and even get paid to staff the server. Anyone can start a server, but if you want it to work like one of the big ones, there's a lot of time and dedication that needs to be put into the server. Or you could also have a server for just the sole purpose of playing with a group of friends. Whether your in Survival or Creative Mode, as long as you're having fun. That's what Minecraft is all about.

Back on the Home page, I mentioned that about listening to the music in Minecraft. Sometimes when playing on my Survival world, I would happen to stumble across an absolute stunning view. I would just sit there for awhile and just listen to the music play. It just reminds me of being a child and not having all the stresses that us adults have. I think that's what Minecraft is really all about. This is why I'll always come back to Minecraft. If you are interested in learning more about the game, click here!
